The Truck Efficiency Run powered by Krone is a new kind of competition for truck drivers:
It’s not about who is the fastest – it’s about who drives the most efficiently.
Goal: Every driver demonstrates their skills and talents from everyday work life, showing how much strategy and precision are required to optimize fuel consumption and fully unlock their vehicle’s efficiency. Each participant competes against the performance values of their own truck – brand comparisons are eliminated.
At the center of it all is just one question:
How well do you unlock the full potential of your truck?
The results are based on a Performance Index, which combines two key factors:
• Consistency: Drivers who maintain a steady speed earn valuable points.
• Efficiency: The actual consumption is measured – but smartly: It is compared and normalised against the official manufacturer specifications for each individual truck (CoC). No absolute consumption values are published – only each driver’s personal Performance Index counts.
• Showcase your driving skills – prove that efficiency demands expertise and experience and your are one of the best and do not fear competition with others.
• Boost your company’s image – efficient drivers and modern fleets are more sought-after than ever.
• Exclusive experience for only 20 selected participants with true motorsport spirit on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife – but with a new challenge: Who drives the smartest, not the fastest.
• Win attractive prizes – including guaranteed Müllenbach Trucker Camp parking spots for the Int. ADAC Truck Grand Prix in 2026, ferry travel vouchers and many more exciting rewards!
The Nürburgring Nordschleife, known as the “Green Hell,” is one of the most iconic and challenging race tracks in the world. Spanning 24.358km with more than 73 corners and extreme elevation changes, it challenges both driver and machine.
Built in 1927, the track remains the gold standard for vehicle and driver testing.
During the Truck Efficiency Run, it becomes the stage where drivers must prove their skills in the real world — not with speed, but with skill, precision and efficiency under real conditions.
Participation in the Truck Efficiency Run powered by Krone is exclusively open to 20 professional truck drivers with road-legal trucks:
Who can participate?
• Professional truck drivers with a valid C / CE driving license (or equivalent foreign license)
• Only road drivers are eligible – professional racing drivers are excluded
• Maximum of 20 entries accepted. Additional applications will be placed on a waiting list
Which vehicles are eligible?
• Road-legal tractor units: Commercially available tractor units without modifications
• Minimum emissions standard: Euro IV
• Permitted extras: standard roof spoiler/wind deflector
• Road-legal semi-trailers: Standard model with long chassis and three axles
• No cargo allowed
• Total weight (tractor + trailer): minimum 16 tonnes, maximum 18 tonnes
In which independent categories?
• Class 1: Normal combustion engines (with HVO)
• Class 2: Electric vehicles with battery: a.) B.E.V. or b.) Electric vehicles with fuel cells
• Class 3: Internal combustion engine with H2
• Class 4: Internal combustion engine with (bio)LNG
How does the registration process work?
1. Application Phase: Apply for one of the 20 exclusive slots by 30th May 2025.
2. Selection Phase: We will contact the selected participants with an official Entry Form.
3. Entry Phase: Fill in the Entry Form, sign it and send it back to us along with:
Copy of your driving license (Class C/CE), Copy of the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) of your truck and • Signed liability waiver
• Pay the entry fee of €499 (includes 2 weekend tickets for the Int. ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix)
4. Confirmation:
• Once we have received all required documents and the entry fee,
• We will officially confirm your participation and send you all further event details
5. See you at the Nürburgring on 10th July!
